Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Graduated with honours from Mount Doug Senior High.

B.A. with distinction in Psychology and English Literature (double major) from The University of Victoria with an 8.86/9 G.P.A.

When asked by his grandfather what he wanted to be when he grew up, at the age of 4 Kevin replied with boundless alacrity: "a star guitar player." As a teenager, he underwent private training in music theory and various styles of guitar with Jean Guilbault, Pat Fabrick and Elliot Silverman and began composing and recording songs in his basement bedroom until meeting studio owner Greg Vaughan through a college friend.

Kevin recorded an independent six-song E.P. with Greg Vaughan, which included "Fool's Paradise", "Girl Like You", "Daddy", "Crawling After You", "Lost" (recorded with members of Dirtnap), and an early version "Psychopath Killer" (recorded by John Frisk), whose lyrics later changed when it was re-recorded for The Atman Project (1998).

In 1996, Cryderman released his first full length CD called Nice Guy, recorded at The Mine with Anand Greenwell and Graham Coady. Although Cryderman has not released any 'official' CDs since then for public consumption, he has continued to write and record many songs. For instance, Kevin's second CD project was also recorded at The Mine with Coady and Greenwell. The Atman Project (1998) was a concept album (later abandoned) based on the writings of Ken Wilbur. New songs were recorded at Zero Gravity Studios with Greenwell and Coady ("Greed" and "The Future") and at Cascade Studios with Casey Pechet ("Pedestal", "Nasty" and "Courting the Muse").

Including some selections from the abandoned concept album that pointed towards the process of artistic creation as a theme within metaphors of human relationships ("Limbo", "Solitary Man", "Reconciliation Day", and "Personification"), the CD eventually became Courting the Muse (2001), which was relased only in a limited edition version. Cryderman is currently working on a new revised and expanded (15 song) version of this album, which will include such fan favorites as "The Waves", "Minimum Wage," and "Nothing to You." The new version of Courting the Muse should be available in 2006.

The underground indie label NICE GUY PRODUCTIONS, whose name apparently inspired Cryderman's infamous song "Nice Guy", is also compiling a limited-release Five CD box set for Cryderman completionists, which will include over 100 songs spanning his prolific career thus far. Volumes one and two act as a kind of "best of", while volume three is more obscure material. Volume four will be newly recorded 'songs from the B file' (such as "Valentine" and "Looking Glass Self") and some new versions of older songs. Volume five will be comprised of early lo-fi basement recordings previously unavailable on CD.

Early live performances, solo acoustic (and band), included: Planet Harpos ; The Victoria Folkfest 1994-1997; The Drawing Room; Felicitas (UVIC); J Street Rocks Cafe; Cityfest 1994 (during the Commonwealth Games); Dylans Roadhouse Pub Talent Search; Tally-Ho Comedy Night; Wild Rover; Plutos Restaurant; Bisbee Coffee Co.; The Fleet Clubs Comedy Night; Pagliaccis Restaurant; Saratoga Resort (Shuswap Lake); the Old Bailey Pub; and countless house parties. More recently, Cryderman has been performing at the Common Ground and Milestones in Rochester NY, where he currently resides as a PHD student in English and Film studies at the University of Rochester.

From 1996-9, Cryderman wrote for Offbeat magazine, a publication of CFUV at UVIC, and volunteered for the music department of CFUV. He also wrote an underground novel called Sex in the Stream of Consciousness (a.k.a.) Death of the Author.
